Taiwan ranks 28th on Corruption Perception Index

A new report indicates that Taiwan continues to uphold an image of clean government.
The "2020 Corruption Perception Index", compiled by NGO Transparency International, ranks countries and territories by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, according to experts and business people.
Taiwan scored 65 out of 100, ranking 28th in the world, out of 180 other countries and territories. The island's position in 2020 remains the same as in 2019.
The Ministry of Justice says for countries in the Asia Pacific, Taiwan ranks 7th, behind New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore, among others. New Zealand and Denmark tied for 1st place.
Other countries of note include China, which ranked 78th on the list, and the United States, which ranked 25th.
