TRC "doing well" since privatisation
14 March, 2024
Taiwan Railways Corporation Chairman Tu Wei says the company has performed well since privatization.
Tu says that in the first two months of this year, the number of seats provided by the TRC has increased from 49 million last year to just over 51 million this year and actual passenger volume in those months averaged 643-thousand riders per day, up from the 600,000 per day over the same period last year.
The TRC chairman says this indicates that after the Covid-19 pandemic, public confidence in TRC services has grown. And Tu also points out that the punctuality rate of trains exceeded 96% in January and February, and will continue to further improve in the future.
