Combat casualty training building opened
The National Defense Medical Center has inaugurated a building dedicated to enhancing the training of tactical combat casualty care and disaster rescue skills.
During the centre's opening ceremony, President Tsai Ing-wen described the building as marking a "complete upgrading of techniques and training facilities at the Health Service Training Center."
Tsai said the health service training centre's mission is to provide military officers and soldiers with the skills required to provide medical care in combat situations.
The new building aims to create a multi-functional environment for training. It includes the use of both virtual and augmented reality technologies to immerse military personnel in a simulated battlefield rescue training environment.
The National Defense Medical Center is responsible for the training of military doctors, nurses and other medical personnel.
