Thailand to waive visa requirements for Taiwanese

Thailand will be waiving visa requirements for ROC passport holders from 10 November through 10 May of next year.
The Taipei Tourism Authority of Thailand says Taiwanese travellers heading to Thailand for tourism will now be granted a visa-free stay of 30 days.
A spokesperson for the Taipei-based Travel Quality Assurance Association says the visa waiver program could potentially boost the number of tourists from Taiwan visiting Thailand by between 20% and 30%.
An estimated 830,000 people from Taiwan visit Thailand every year and the visa waiver program could push that number past the one million mark.
Taiwanese nationals are currently required to pay NT$1,200 for a Thai visa.
