ITRI forecasts continued IC industry growth in 2023
The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has released its forecast of Taiwan’s IC industry growth for this year and the next. The forecast says the IC industry’s output value is expected to reach NT$4.7 trillion this year, an increase of 15.6%, and increase further to NT$5 trillion in 2023.
The head of ITRI’s Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center says that, despite turmoil in the global economy, the global semiconductor industry has received a lot of attention this year and innovative technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing are still being developed. He says for the next three years, Taiwan's semiconductor industry will grow by double-digit percentages, driven by advanced processes and automotive chips.
