CECC reports 575 new cases
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported 575 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, of which 431 were domestic infections.
It was the 10th consecutive day new domestic cases have been 100, and the second consecutive day with over 400 new domestic cases.
New Taipei had the highest number of new domestic cases with 143.That was followed by Taipei with 67 and Taoyuan with 45 cases.
According to the CECC, of the 3,546 domestic cases recorded islandwide from between 1 January and 9 April, 14 have been classified as moderate to severe infections, while the other cases are either mild or asymptomatic.
144 new imported coronavirus cases were also reported, with 83 those testing positive on arriving in Taiwan.
However, no new deaths were being reported, and the number of confirmed coronavirus-related deaths here in Taiwan since the pandemic began remains at 854.
